Conference Conversation Cafe

I invite each of you to imagine a warm, welcoming cafe in which we can sit together and share ideas, yearnings, hopes and dreams for our AIN conference(s).

I'm writing this post in response to this morning's phone call (with represention from Holland, the UK, the USA, and Canada) because the main topic was "What is the AIN conference about for us?"

We heard a little bit about the upcoming AIN Europe conference (March 2006)and it led us into rich dialogue around our conferences in general - and what they mean to all of us. Some of the ideas and questions that emerged include:

What do participants value and why do they attend our conference?
How do the needs of our "wily veteran AIN folks" differ from the "newbies" and what might that mean for us?
As the Europeans connect and the various regions of the world begin to explore their relationship with each other, what purpose does the "world-wide-AIN-conference" serve?

Who will lead, organize, and coordinate the work that needs to be done to host such an event?
What do our community members most want to take away from the conference experience - what/where/how/who makes it all worthwhile?

We seek comments, opinions, responses to any or all of these questions and we're curious: What burning questions do you have about AIN conferences of the future?

And if you are eager to join this conversation in a less-blog-like-and-more-vocal-manner the next conference call is planned for Thursday, January 26 at 1 PM Eastern, Conference Call: Dial (641) 985-1010, access code 900-568-326

Let's play Yes, and... as we co-create together. Wishing you a fun-filled and joyous 2006.

Karen
