Carrie Gallant

Carrie is President of Gallant Solutions Inc., and a skilled mediator, negotiation strategist, facilitator, trainer and coach. Carrie is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia Law Faculty, and a Director and Mentor for the CoRe Conflict Resolution Society. Previously, Carrie held a number of senior leadership positions, including most recently Program Manager for the Court Mediation Program; Director of the Centre for Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute of BC; Director of the University of Windsor Mediation Service; and Chief Legal Counsel to the Ontario Pay Equity Commission.
Carrie strives to integrate creativity into her work as a conflict resolution specialist, and is passionate about finding the spark that opens the mind, shifts thinking patterns and creates new ways of looking at and responding to problems. A lifelong learner, Carrie pursues creativity through training in improvisational and forum theatre. Carrie joined the production team for North America’s first legislative theatre project entitled Practicing Democracy, and produced the final report of policy recommendations to Vancouver City Council. Carrie is completing a certificate in professional coaching with the Adler Institute in Toronto, and working toward completion of her LL.M. in Dispute Resolution at Osgoode Hall Law School, with a focus on creativity in conflict resolution.
