Ed Reggi

Ed Reggi

Ed Reggi is a professional actor who facilitates both social and cultural change using improv techniques. Using Spolin Theatre Games, Reggi has successfully taught conflict management skills to street-gang members and developed new innovative HIV/STD health education programs geared toward elementary school-aged children. Reggi founded the Saint Louis Improv Project, Inc., a community outreach not-for-profit organization that used the work pioneered by Viola Spolin to create innovative methods for teaching life skills regardless of literacy, language and cultural barriers.

Reggi was born and raised in the Big Apple; he knew he was a performer from the moment he met Bill Cosby outside the NBC studios across the street from Reggi’s Brooklyn home. He spent his teenage years sneaking onto the set of the famed Bill Cosby Show to learn the ropes from the comic master. Reggi pursued Musical Theatre at the University of New York and holds a B.F.A. in both Visual and Theatre Arts. Reggi has studied closely with Martin de Maat, Second City’s late Artistic Director, and Spolin’s son, Paul Sills.

Reggi is a proud member of A.E.A. (Actors Equity Association); A.A.T.H. (Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor); and a C.A.T. Fellow (Community Artist Training) from Webster University. Reggi travels around the world performing improvised plays and coaches’ individuals, non-profit agencies, governments, and corporations on the benefits of applied improvisation. When not traveling, Reggi lives in St. Louis, Missouri where he coordinates the Theatre Department for the Center of Creative Arts, is an Artist in Residency with Young Audiences of St. Louis and directs improv troupe Paper Slip Theatre.

Some of Reggi’s clients include: GTE; Zipitoni Agency; St. Charles Family Arena Center; St. Louis Regional Arts Commission; Association of State Treasurers; SONY; ABS-CBN Philippines Television Network; Cultural Center of the Philippines; A World of Difference, Inc.; Missouri State Thespian Association and State Farm Insurance Companies.
