Julie Huffaker

Julie is a cultural anthropologist by training, and fell into business quite by accident (actually, it was an accident - a car accident - but that's another story). She helped craft the cultural marketing strategy for Starbucks Coffee Company through the early 90's, then spent the next decade providing marketing and communications strategy and global research to clients including Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, PhotoDisc and Airborne Express.
More recently, the focus of Julie’s consulting practice has been the place where business and the human journey come together: namely, the relationship between strategic business evolution and individual/group learning and development. Key areas of interest include strategy-driven change management; organizational vitality and culture building; vision, values and alignment work; and leadership development.
Integral to this work is her collaboration with On Your Feet: Improvisation for Business. On Your Feet is a bridge between business and the arts. With a client list that includes PricewaterhouseCoopers, Southwest Airlines, Nike, Intel, Wieden+Kennedy, and FedEx, On Your Feet uses tools and methods drawn from improvisational theater to help clients with relationships, creativity and learning.
Julie is a graduate of the Loose Moose International Impro School. She holds an MBA from Portland State University, is a Morehead Scholar with the University of North Carolina, and is a passionate traveler and humble yoga practitioner.
