Teresa Norton
Through her Spotlight on Success workshops and executive coaching, Teresa Norton specializes in the application of theatre techniques to enhance communication skills for corporate clients.
Ms. Nortons career in executive coaching and strategic training is founded on over 20 years of live theatre, television, advertising, bilingual radio and international business experience. Currently one of Asia Pacifics most sought-after executive coaches, Teresa provides strategic communications counselto numerous multinational corporations in presentation skills, leadership and professional advancement training and surmounting sensitive cross-cultural communication challenges. Teresa has pioneered effective, theatrically-directed, group training and one-on-one coaching in Asia, and supports international clients ranging from The Economist, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Jardine Matheson.
Ms. Norton began her professional career in the theatre singing with the San Francisco Spring Opera. She left the Bay Area and embarked on a career in radio which took her to Hawaii, where she began a lucrative career in commercial voice overs for radio and television commercials which continues to this day for clients including Star TV, Miele, Mobil/Esso and McDonalds.
Throughout a radio career which had her hosting the breakfast show that pioneered what she refers to as Hong Kongs first intelligent bilingual presentation, Teresa maintained her ties to professional theatre, featuring in dozens of productions, co-writing a series of satirical/musical revues and eventually forming her own theatre company, Caught In The Act.
Teresa was invited to guest lecture at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Musical Theatre Department in 1997 and that same year published a collection of the weekly columns she wrote over a seven-year period for the South China Morning Post.
In addition to offering Spotlight on Success workshops and one-on-one coaching in communication, Ms.Norton writes, produces and directs corporate and retail entertainment through her company, Strategic Entertainment Ltd. Past and present clients include The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific Ltd., Jardines, AMC Singapore (Nokia), Blaze Communications (ABN Amro), WINPAC, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and Sun Hung Kai Properties.
