Ann Swanberg

Ann Swanberg is cofounder of LifePlays, formed in 1999 with Chris Miller to bring the transformative applications of connective, embodied improv to individuals and innovative organizations. A seasoned improviser-facilitator, Ann has taught and/or performed with Impulse Theatre, ImprovWorks, The Centre for Performance Studies, Bay Area TheatreSports, Pacific Playback Theatre and the Academy of Art College. Okay, that's enough third person. It's just too...third person.

What inspires me deeply in this work is the power of our medium to give people a new experience. If a picture is worth a thousand words, the embodiment of a thrilling new choice is worth a thousand personal growth books. Whether in one-on-one coaching, a workplace communication workshop, or an interactive conference presentation, there's nothing more impactful than seeing that living lightbulb go off in a person's life -- saying in a myriad of different ways, "Wow, this other way of expressing myself feels so much better."

I plan on evolving my work in this magnificent field spontaneously until the day I die.
