Greg
Hohn has been a professional improviser since joining
Transactors Improv (Chapel Hill, N.C.) in 1989. He has
been the company's director and lead instructor since
1996. In addition to performing and teaching improv for
improv's sake, Greg has developed the Applied Improv curriculum,
which seeks to put the principles and techniques of improvisational
theater to work in nontraditional venues.
Greg is an adjunct faculty member in the MBA program
at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler
Business School and he teaches Applied Improv for KFBS
Executive Education, in Duke University's Short Course
program, and for corporations and organizations across
the country. He also teaches acting and presentation
skills.
In addition to performing improv, Greg works in film,
television, radio, scripted and musical theater, and
industrial/corporate media. He is a member of the Screen
Actors Guild. Greg graduated from UNC with a degree
in English and has written for stage, radio, and periodicals
and recently completed his first novel.
Greg has studied with some of the acknowledged leaders
in the world of improv, including Paul Sills and Mick
Napier. His Applied Improv work has been profiled in
Harvard Management Communication Newsletter, Meridian
magazine, Carolina Alumni Review, Urban Hiker, and Kenan-Flagler
Business School magazine.
