Diane
Mashia is the President and Lead Improvisor for
Learning Out Loud, a performance leadership company dedicated
to the improvement of workplace relationships through
the use of improvisation and theatre games. Learning Out
Loud is a fun, entertaining, and interactive way to develop
communication and interpersonal skills and discover creative
ways to solve problems. Core offerings of Learning Out
Loud include strategic networking, team development, and
interpersonal communication.
Miss Mashia’s background includes a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology from Smith College
in Northampton, MA; over twelve years’ training
and development experience in the corporate environment;
and active membership in the Educational Theatre Association/International
Thespian Society, and the American Society for Training
and Development (ASTD). She is a certified practitioner
of the Myers-Briggs personality Type Indicator (MBTI)
having studied type theory extensively with Type Resources
in Gaithersburg, MD. She has also studied acting and
improvisational theater with Patty Lewis at the Shipping
Dock, is involved in local community theater both acting
and directing, and leads a comedy-improvisational theater
troupe called “Some Assembly Required,”
which she founded in 2000. Her client list includes
The Rochester Business Alliance, Eastman Kodak Company,
Tobin & Associates, Inc., Unifrax Corporation, Finger
Lakes Community College, the Juvenile Detention Association
of New York State, the Massachusetts Credit Union League,
the Massachusetts Bank Internal Auditors, the National
Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the
MBTA Employees’ Credit Union.
Miss Mashia’s work has been featured in The Torch,
a monthly newsletter of the Genesee Valley Chapter of
the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD),
and in the Rochester Business Journal. She has also
been a guest of WWRM 101.3 FM’s morning radio
program, “The Tony and Dee Show.”
