Cynthia
Oelkers wrangles with students
and professionals with the goal of shaking off bad communication
habits and replacing them with clarity and persuasion.
Her workshops include "Briefing
Bootcamps" and "Nine Ways to Turn Heads: Presenting
Your Best Self".
Cynthia believes that communication is a SKILL, much
like driving a car. To become a master of the vehicle,
you must not simply watch the video and take notes;
you must get in the car and drive. Her workshops follow
suit: everyone is challenged to rise to a new level
of communication through practice, application and experience.
Participants emerge with a new sense of possibilities,
skills, and confidence.
She is co-founder of In The Moment Productions, Inc.
and has helped clients such as Planar Systems, The Visiting
Nurse Association, The University of Texas, and Dell,
Inc. In addition, she has been a professional public
speaker for Dell, Inc., and has been training in the
corporate and higher-education sectors for ten years.
She combines her work as an improvisational comedian,
researcher, and business woman to create unique workshop
experiences that are insightful, relevant and fun. Cynthia
holds a Masters degree in Interpersonal Communication with a focus on Sales and Persuasion from The University of Texas at Austin.
She currently teaches presentational speaking and business
communication for managers at St. Edward’s University
and LeTourneau University, and contracts to Dell to
write and deliver E-Business workshops.
