Roland
Trescher lives and works in
Munich, Germany. In 1990 he encountered improv for the
first time in an “experimental” seminar
at the drama department of the university of Munich,
where he studied drama and psychology. Improv amazed
him from the beginning. As an output from this seminar
he founded an improvgroup to be first one performing
in public in Southern Germany. Very quickly they became
successful. Roland worked with many teachers as Keith
Johnstone, Del Close, Randy Dixon, Ruth Zapora, Dennis
Cahill and many more, to improve his knowledge and skills
about improv.
Since 1992, when he did his first
show in public, he has performed about 1500 shows all
over Europe. Besides performing on stage he has always
been a teacher and trainer. His students were actors,
improvisers, students at universities and drama schools,
teachers at schools, young people at festivals and employees
and manager in companies (i.e. BMW, HypoVereinsbank,
Audi, GlaxoSmithKline, Oracle, Renault Nissan Bank,
Siemens)
Aside from his new Improvgroup
Isar148
he started 2 years ago, he joined monidalnet,
a network of trainers and consultants to share their
diverse knowledge, values and work. His company ImproMedia
became a Label for his seminars, workshops and trainings
focused on improv. Here Improv is the basic idea, enriched
and reinforced by additional competencies and trainers.
Roland is convinced only openness
and knowledge sharing prepares us to be ready for the
knowledge society, and therefore the ideas of improv
will be useful for more and more people and companies.
